The NRC's boathouse is located in the heart of Lakeside Park between the soccer fields and tennis courts. It's a 72'x40' stick-framed building with two bays used for boat storage, repair and indoor training. Walk 150' towards the water and you'll find the NRC's access ramp and floating dock.

Our dock is 80' x 10'; two 40' long sections made of cedar logs decked with lumber. These sections are tethered to steel piles and move up and down with the changing lake levels (typically Kootenay Lake goes through a 10-12' change annually).

NRC rowers scull on the West Arm of Kootenay Lake-- an incredible fjord-like waterway that is nestled between the Selkirk and Purcell mountain ranges in the West Kootenay region. Our rowers have a mapped 2km race course south of the dock and an available 40kms+ of rowing towards Kootenay Lake.

The shores of the lake are filled with beaches to explore-- Troop (~30min row north) being a favourite of club members. There is also an abundance of wildlife to watch on our waters, including great blue herons, ospreys and our dock's resident river otter.
