Adult Learn to Row

For adults (19+ yrs), this program teaches basic sculling technique in 6 x 2hr lessons. Important aspects covered in the course include:

  • Boat-handling and rigging

  • Launching and docking

  • Maneuvering on the water

Details

  • The Nelson Rowing Club is located at Lakeside Park. We're the blue building beside the Streetcar Barn.

  • All equipment is provided, including personal flotation devices. You'll need to dress for outdoor exercise.

Cost

  • * The cost is $375 and includes one year club membership in the Nelson Rowing Club. Membership applies only after successful completion of LTR, and for the current season only.

  • As an NRC member you will be automatically registered as a member of our sport's provincial and national organizations (Rowing BC and Rowing Canada Aviron).

Onwards

  • Once you have completed the LTR program you will have lots of opportunity to row with others in the club before the season ends in October. Your coach will let you know how to connect with the general membership to set up rowing dates. Further coaching and group sessions will be arranged as needed.
